Johannesburg Open 2016 Results

The Johannesburg Open 2016 speed cubing competition took place on the 19th of June 2016 at the Chabad of Strathavon, Johannesburg, South Africa. Zaakir Hagee won the competition with an average of 12.86 seconds. Victor Asiwe finished second with an average of 16.17, and Cameron Blumenow finished third with an average of 16.46.

Tunisia Spring Open 2016 Results

The Tunisia Spring Open 2016 took place in Monastir, Tunisia on 15 March 2016. Emna Boughizane won the competition with an average of 13.93 seconds. Amine Chouchane finished second (16.22) and Moez Boussarsar finished third (18.17). National records were broken in every event that took place at the competition.

Big ‘n Weird Pretoria 2016 Results

The Big ‘n Weird Pretoria 2016 speed cubing competition took place on the 13th of February 2016 at the Sci-Enza Centre at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Zaakir Hagee won the competition with an average of 12.92 seconds. Logan Woolfson finished second with an average of 14.19, and Pieterjan Joubert finished third with an average of 15.81. This competition was the first in Africa to host 3×3 with feet, 3×3 fewest moves, Square-1 and 7×7.

Tunisia Winter Open 2015 Results

The Tunisia Winter Open 2015 took place in Nabeul, Tunisia. Chady Ben Hamida won the competition with an average of 21.18 seconds. Emna Boughizane finished second (22.79) and Moez Boussarsar finished third (25.26). Emna Boughizane’s 22.46 second Rubik’s Cube average in the first round and 17.50 single in the final also make her the fastest female cuber in Africa.

Cape Town Open 2015 Results

The Cape Town Open 2015 took place this weekend in Johannesburg, South Africa. Stephen Cotterrell won the competition with an average of 13.61 seconds. Maverick Pearson finished second with an average of 14.28 seconds, and Lonwabo Mvovo finished third with an average of 17.98 seconds. Stephen Cotterrell also became the second African and first South African to have an official Rubik’s cube solve under 10 seconds.
